ISELE-UKU/Nigeria: The Principal of Issele Uku Technical College at Issele Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Robinson Okoro, has frowned at the incessant vandalisation of the school’s facilities and urged for vigilance by the security agents in the locality.
Mr Robinson who expressed deep concern during a chat with newsmen in his office said that the situation was worrisome as the vandalisation had continued unabated, just as he affirmed that in a space of three months four incidents of vandalism were recorded.
The principal therefore used the opportunity to appeal to the state government to urgently post security personnel to the school, saying that he had earlier written to the Ministry of Technical Education to approve the engagement of temporary security guards to mitigate the ugly trend.
He disclosed that the Parents/Teachers Association ( PTA) of the school had already indicated interest to contribute money to be used in paying the guards when engaged, adding that he had been spending his personal money in paying the Issele Uku Vigilante group to assist in securing the school premises, especially during the holidays.
Mr Robinson added that the school had four workshops, which included Auto Mechanic, Electrical Workshop, Brick/ Block Laying and Concreting as well as Fabrication and Welding, and requested for a workshop attendant to coordinate the workshops.
