KWALE/Nigeria: Social miscreants operating in and around Onitcha Ukwuani community in Ndokwa West Local Government Area has been accused of vandalising a security post built between the community and Ogume Community, which was done with the permission of the state police commissioner.
Making the accusation, a former member of the Delta State house of Assembly, Hon Aneke Ifemeni, accused the vandals of been sponsored, to bring insecurity to the area.
In a message to www.ndokwareporters.com, he said the security post was built with the permission of the state police commissioner between the two communities in order to control, check the activities of small armed robbers and vandals who had been operating freely in the area destroying government properties.
According to Hon Ifemeni, the activities of the vandals had impeded development in the area, as they often destroy properties built for the common good of the people.
He pointed out the worrisome situation is that there are evidences of involvement of the leadership of the Onitcha Ukwuani community in most of the activities as they are quick to ask the authourity to withdraw charges against those arrested and prosecuted.
He called on the people of the community to come together and fight the enemies of development in the area.
“All hands must be on deck to track and prosecute these bad eggs and their collaborators”.
He said the activities of these vandals had been on for a long time, but the chiefs of the community had find it confortable to protect them, as they had not been any word of condemnation from them anytime such happens.
“No world of condemnation from the chiefs just because their children and wards are involved.” He asserted.
