KWALE/Nigeria: Ndokwa west has witnessed the death of another victim in the hands of the Vigilante Group, within a period of one month, as an Okada rider, and an Usher in Winners Chapel Kwale, was accidentally shot to death by a neighbour, who is a member of the Vigilante Group in the town.
According to sources, the incident happened in the early morning of today, October 23, 2017, when the Vigilante member, (name Withheld) decided to services his gun to ensure it will be in proper order when its service will be required.
Eye witnesses informed Ndokwa Reporters that in the process of carrying out the servicing, the gun accidently went off hitting the victim, (Rupert, 27 years from Umutu in Ukwuani LGA) his neighbour at a close range.
It was learnt the Vigilante who seeing the precarious situation of the victim, called his team leader immediately, as Rupert was struggling in pain. The distress call brought the team of vigilantes who now carried the victim for treatment, but instead of taking him for a proper medical attention, he was taking to a traditional bullet extraction home, where he died because of the loss of blood.
As at the time of filling this report, it was learnt that the vigilante is being detained at the Kwale Police Station, while the body of Rupert is presently deposited at a mortuary in Kwale.
Barely a month ago, the vigilante in Utagba-Uno arrested a youth who stole a motor bike, the boy was transferred to the Kwale Vigilante, but four of the Kwale Vigilantes tortured the young boy to death, and buried him. They were later arrested, and yesterday, October 23, 2017 they were remanded by the court in Kwale to the Federal Prison, Kwale.
