There is no denying the fact that aspirants at Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency that are individually flying the House of Representative tickets of all registered political parties registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2023 general elections are warming up to attain victory, but however, the fact remains that the position will be won by just one of the candidates.
Against the foregoing backdrop, it is unarguable that the wish of the constituents, particularly of those that are affiliated to the fast growing pressure group in the constituency, “Amuwo Arise for Good Governance”, is that with the emergence of Prince Lanre Sanusi, fondly called PLS by his supporters and admirers alike, that old things would pass away and that new life is bound to begin across the length and breadth of the constituency in terms of infrastructural development and empowerment of the people, particularly the vulnerable ones among them.
Gladly enough as PLS is in the race to the federal house of assembly, there is no denying the fact that be is set to win at the polls under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ostensibly poised to positively change the infrastructural architecture and narratives in the federal constituency that consists of various communities, PLS in his usual characteristic manner of prioritizing on the betterment of the constituents and his predilection for pragmatic performance, assured his constituents that are affiliated to “Amuwo Arise for Good Governance” to expect better representation. The expectation from him is no doubt, matter-of-factly, as he is set to meet it by riding on the wings of persuasiveness, practical legislative influence and robust enactment of laws that will in turn impact the lives of residents of all communities within the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, if elected to power come the much expected election in 2023.
At the parley which was invariably engaging and interactive, PLS assured the delegation of the governance group, led by its founder, Engineer Cecil Okereke and Chairman of the Group, Comrade Kola Folorunso, respectively, that his newly constructed constituency Office would be ready for use by all constituents as it is situated in Amuwo Odofin, and doubly assured them that details of the comprehensive agenda would soon be unveiled to the Group.
At this juncture, it would not be out of place to say that his traducers and political opponents alike may have been myopic in their view on his political weight and capability in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency. They cannot be blamed for being narrow-minded about his personality except they have to once again be enlightened. Thus, it would not be out of place to reiterate the fact that Sanusi was born and raised in the sprawling city of Lagos, right from childhood, and has in that light developed consciousness of the many challenges of his immediate community and saw the need to fix them. This belief defines his over fifteen years corporate experience as tax consultant and business strategist with interest in the United States of America and Nigeria. In his career, and has by virtue of the foregoing background consulted for some of Forbes magazine’s top brands such as Toyota through Sterling McCall Toyota Fort Bend, Wall-Mart, Golden Choices INC and also the City of Fort-Worth Dallas.
Without sounding panegyric, Sanusi stands tall among other candidates that would be vying for the position come February 2023. The reason for the foregoing view cannot be farfetched as he is well-read and qualitatively educated. He bagged his Master’s in Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University and Bachelor of Science in Business and Healthcare Management from Dallas Baptist University and the University of Texas respectively. In addition, he holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Tarrant County College and High School Diploma from Bedford High School, Texas. To further widen the horizon of his knowledge, he pursued a PhD in Law and Public Policy at Walden University in the United States.
In a media parley with not a few respondents concerning the apropos push for the candidacy of PLS, as he is fondly called, it was gathered that given the present unsatisfactory infrastructural state of communities and the underserved constituents that it is reasonable enough for him to be massively supported.
The foregoing view is predicated on the fact that not much has been done for the people in the constituency by leaders that have had the opportunity of representing the people at the green chamber, particularly in the ongoing political dispensation.
In fact, since leaders have been tested or rather been on trial at the house of representative, it is not out of place to say that virtually everyone in the constituency has somewhat seen the best they can offer, and it is better they try another leader like PLS in the next political dispensation since the constituency is in search of ideal leadership which the incumbent representative is yet to offer. Close to the foregoing view is that leaving the Constituency again in the hands of those whose collective strength has being tried, and assessed to be unsatisfactory, it may be foolhardy for the people of Amuwo Odofin to repeat the same mistake again. After all, there is a saying by Laozi that “If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading. Analyzed from the foregoing perspectives, it is not an exaggeration to say that voting for Lanre Sanusi come February 2023 would be as good as giving the people of Amuwo Odofin deserved representative at the green chamber.
