Warri Presents N14.1 Billion 2025 Budget for Isoko South Development

OLEH/Nigeria: The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, Comrade Friday Ovoke Warri, on Wednesday presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N14,142,871,152.51 to the council’s legislative arm for approval.

Unveiling the budget at the legislative chamber in Oleh, Warri described it as the “Budget for the Isoko South People,” emphasizing its alignment with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE AGENDA policy. He assured the electorate that the budget would facilitate the fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people of Isoko South.

Warri expressed gratitude to the legislative arm for their cooperation and lauded the residents of Isoko South for their unwavering support of his administration. He pledged to continue serving in their best interests, stating, “I will not disappoint the people who have placed their trust in me.”

The leader of the legislative arm, Friday Olokor, commended the chairman for fostering a harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative arms. He assured Warri of the legislative council’s commitment to promptly consider and pass the budget following departmental reviews and defenses.

During the session, Majority Leader Eloho Eza moved for the budget’s first reading, seconded by Okeoghene Ukoh. Meanwhile, Olomoro councillor Oghenero Umeh raised concerns about sand dredging activities in the area, highlighting the proximity of the dredgers’ operations to major access roads and urging immediate action to avert potential hazards.

The session concluded with a motion to adjourn, moved by Eza and seconded by Sarah Francis, councillor representing Irri Ward 10.

Accompanying the chairman at the presentation were Vice Chairman Theresa Ikrike, Secretary to the Local Government Aziakpono Osuofa, Head of Personnel Management Mary Ofogbor, supervisory councillors, and other council officials.
