“We Are On Track” – Oborevwori Assures Completion of Ughelli-Asaba Road by Year’s End

OLOMORO–IGBIDE/Nigeria: In a renewed push to consolidate his administration’s development drive, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured residents that the long-awaited dualisation of the Ughelli-Asaba Road will soon be completed.
Governor Oborevwori gave the assurance on Friday during an inspection of the ongoing reconstruction of the Olomoro–Igbide Road in Isoko South Local Government Area and Sector C2 of the Ughelli–Asaba Expressway. He said Deltans are already reaping the benefits of his administration’s infrastructural projects, as evident in the quality of feedback received from road users and local communities.
“The people are happy, and that tells us we are on the right path. Our MORE Agenda is not just a blueprint; it’s delivering real, tangible results,” Oborevwori said, beaming with satisfaction over the speed and standard of work observed on-site.
He noted that he was particularly pleased with the commitment shown by contractors handling the projects. “I was here in March. They promised to deliver Sector C1 by May, and from all indications, they are right on schedule. This 143-kilometre road now makes it possible to travel from Asaba to Ughelli in under two hours. That’s a major achievement,” the Governor added.
Oborevwori stressed that inclusive development was central to his administration’s mission, and that the voices of the people serve as the clearest indicator of success.
“When Deltans commend our work, from roads to schools, hospitals, and youth programmes, it gives me joy. We were elected to serve, and I will not rest until every part of Delta State feels the impact of this government,” he stated.
The Governor also disclosed that several completed projects are lined up for commissioning as his administration prepares to mark its second anniversary. He reaffirmed his commitment to the timely payment of contractors, urging them to redouble their efforts in line with his administration’s goals.
“We are not slowing down. We will continue to work with urgency, guided by our MORE Agenda and in sync with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This is what responsible governance looks like,” Oborevwori declared.
