We Can Only Change the System If We Register to Vote, Ugbomah Tells Ndokwa Easterners

ASABA/Nigeria: The people of Ndokwa East, who are of age to vote, had been encouraged to ensure their names are in the election register, to enable them exercise their voting rights during the 2019 General Elections in the country.

Giving this admonition on Thursday, August 16, 2018, Engr. Philip Ugbomah, an aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly, under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a press release, said that the only way to bring change to a bad system is to join hand to change that system.

Engr Ugbomah reiterated that, one of the ways to help bring a better, and quick development to the area, which he called the worst developed in the country, despite the huge contribution to the annual GDP of the national income, is for the people to get directly involved through the ballot box.

“Our problems can only be solved if we collectively involve ourselves to bring change to our communities, and we can only do this easily, if we register to vote in the forthcoming elections.”

The statement further called on the people of Ndokwa East to take advantage of the two days holiday declared by the state government, and the two weeks extension made by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to ensure they register.

“The Delta State Government, had declared two days public holiday for those in the state, especially, those in the public services to go out to register, and within the same period the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had extended the registration period to the end of August, 2018. We should take these windows of opportunity to register seriously.” He said.

He also  advised those who had registered and are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, to go and collect it from the nearest INEC office.

He reminded the people that evil we continue to thrive when the generality of those from an area refuse to take part in instituting  good governance, by voting into offices the right people to represent them at the various levels of government.
