We Deploy Collective Approach To Address National Interest- Delta AG

ASABA/Nigeria: The Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr Isaiah Bozimo, has said the 36 states attorneys-general  of the federation  adopt a collective approach in handling matters of national interest.

The attorney-general stated this in his office when his counterpart from Lagos and Abia States visited Asaba for the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice Conference.

The visiting attorneys-general were conducted on an inspection visit of the Ministry of Justice offices in the Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat.

In an interview with newsmen after the inspection of the offices, Bozimo commended the cooperation from his brothers attorneys-general.

He stressed that the solidarity had the potential of sending a strong signal to not only the government of the federation but to the entire citizens of the country.

Both attorneys-general, who also fielded questions from journalists separately, expressed satisfaction with the secretariat building built by Governor Okowa’s administration, while describing it as a magnificent world class edifice.

The Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, stated that apart from the fact that they came to attend the NBA Section on Legal Practice Conference, they equally came to support the attorney-general of Delta State who was the chief host of the conference.

“All the Attorneys- Generals of the 36 states of the Federation are behind him (Delta State Attorney-General) for supporting the section on legal practice in bringing the Conference to Asaba.

“As you witnessed at the opening ceremony, it was commendation for him all through for what he has done in bringing the Conference here, and we do this to appreciate him and also to encourage other States and other Attorneys-General to do the same,” he pointed out.

Moyosore, while appraising the Delta State Ministry of Justice offices, described it as a first class project which a proper law office should look like.

“I must commend the Governor of Delta State for putting up this wonderful edifice.  It is befitting.  I am very impressed,” he added.

His Abia State counterpart, Uche Ihediwa, SAN, who stated that he last visited Asaba in 1978, said he was amazed at the unprecedented rate of development across the state including the state secretariat.

He advised that the secretariat should be handed over to the private sector for proper maintenance so that it could maintain its glory and beauty all year round.
