ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Head of Service Mr. Reginald Bayoko has described writing as the most conventional method of documenting one’s experience in the civil service for the enlightenment of the public.
Mr. Bayoko said this Monday, February 11, 2019 in Asaba at the Reviewing and Launching of 3 Books-“Public Service Poised for Satisfactory Delivery”; “Basic Knowledge for Effective Service”; and “Rating of Annual Performance Evaluation Report Made Easy” by Mr. Ifeanyi Osuya a Chief Administrative Officer, Directorate of Government House and Protocol.
He explained that documenting one’s experience, negative and positive, in the service would not only educate and encourage others but would display the crop of senior officers who have “served with diligence, resourcefulness and have found pride and joy executing their duties”.
According to him “It is not easy for one to express their thoughts, emotions and feelings into words but documenting one’s experience in the service and publishing 3 books is a feat in its own”.
“It is my belief that these books will not only leave its mark on the civil service but they will educate others in the service” he added.
In their separate remarks, the former Head of Sevice Mr. Okey Ofili described the books as manuals that would help promote effectiveness and productivity in the service, while Mr. Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje, Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocol, commended the author Mr. Ifeanyi Osuya stating the books are “a contribution of your own quota for the enrichment and the good of the civil service”.
