OBIARUKU/Nigeria: Christian youths have been charged to add values to their lives, maximizing their time and acquire skills that will make them relevant in the society, in their families and to themselves.
This charge was made by the Resident Pastor, Living Faith Church a.k.a Winner’s Chapel, Obiaruku, Pastor Abraham Emmanuel Otoaye during Sunday’s “Covenant Day of Fruitfulness” service. He stated that fruitfulness is the heritage of believers in Christ Jesus.
He however noted that, true fruitfulness is the birth right of Christians alone, he therefore called on the unsaved in the congregation to come and have a life (John 10:10); become new creatures and have a meaningful and productive life in Jesus.
Pastor Abraham also stated that, while it is good to attend church services regularly and pray without ceasing he added that, attending church services and praying will not make anybody a mechanic, vulcanizer, welder, fashion designer, computer literate or a civil engineer.
Reading from Deuteronomy 16:15, he said “God promised to bless the works of our hands, which means we must be engaged in doing something meaningful with our hands and brains, however little”.
According to him, there is nothing wrong in a degree holder (graduate) learning a trade, “I get certificate nor be work – go to farm, learn a trade and acquire skills that will rake in income for you on daily, weekly and monthly basis as the case may be”, he added.
He therefore, enjoined the young adults to shun what he termed “forming Bruce Lee with broad chest when hungry instead of doing something to make both ends meet”, he stated.
Pastor Abraham also prayed God to bless the members and cause them to be fruitful in all their endeavours in life as well as make th rest of the month fruitful for them.
