You Are Stakeholders in the Quest to Develop Education Sector, Ukah Tells Subeb Members

Asaba/Nigeria: Members of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) have been told to see themselves as stakeholders in the quest of the state government to improve the education sector in the state.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chief Patrick Ukah, stated this yesterday when he received members of board led by the Chairman, Hon. Sunny Ogwu, in his office.

The commissioner reminded them that they had critical roles to play in developing education in the state, saying that it was the primary assignment given to them by the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

Chief Ukah called on them to work as a team, adding that despite the fact that functions may overlap, they should complement one another since all are under one ministry working for the same objective.

He restated the ministry’s zero tolerance to illegal levies, stressing that whoever is caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Hon. Ogwu had earlier told Chief Ukah that they were in his office to officially introduce themselves to him after they were sworn into office by the state Governor recently and promised that they will not fail in the responsibilities given to them.
