Youth of Umuoche Onuaboh Elects New Leadership to Drive Community Development

UMUOCHE ONUABOH: In a decisive move towards fostering community progress, the youth of Umuoche Onuaboh in Ndokwa East have inaugurated a fresh cadre of executives tasked with steering the clan’s affairs for the next four years.

The electoral contest, held with transparency and fairness at the revered Okpala Uku’s palace, witnessed a spirited race between Ndisika Harrison and Dumbi Babagidan for the coveted position of Youth President. Vigilantly monitored by designated personnel, the atmosphere was conducive and serene, reflecting a commitment to democratic principles.

Ultimately, Ndisika Harrison emerged as the president with a majority of five votes. Joining him in key roles are Sunday Anochie as Vice President, Nwadocheli Famous as Public Relations Officer, Chukwunalu Anochie as General Secretary, and Uwadi Asikodi as Task Force Chairman, among others.

The swearing-in ceremony, marked by traditional rituals including the presentation of kolanuts and prayers, was a vibrant celebration of community spirit. Amidst music and shared meals, the new executives pledged to prioritize the collective interests of the clan over personal agendas, setting a strong foundation for inclusive development.

In his inaugural address, the President,  Ndisika Harrison affirmed his administration’s commitment to governance excellence, vowing not to falter in the pursuit of progress. “We recognize the solemn responsibility entrusted to us, and pledge to honor it with unwavering dedication,” he declared.

Highlighting the challenges facing Onuaboh despite its status as an oil-contributing community, President Harrison lamented the persisting issues of dilapidated infrastructure, inadequate sanitation, and lack of essential services. He called for urgent action to alleviate the suffering of residents and ensure their rightful access to basic amenities.

Echoing the sentiment of service, the newly appointed executives expressed gratitude for the community’s support and pledged to work tirelessly in service of the people. They affirmed their commitment to fostering constructive relationships with political stakeholders at all levels, aiming to mobilize resources for infrastructural development and other vital initiatives.

With a blend of optimism and determination, the youth of Umuoche Onuaboh embark on a new chapter of collective endeavor, guided by a shared vision of prosperity and progress for all.
