ASABA/Nigeria: As the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Campaign Council continues its campaign in the State, the youths of Aniocha North and South Local Government Areas had given their full assurance of the party’s victory in the 2023 elections across the nation.
The youths of the two Local Government Areas spoke when the Campaign Council trail visited Issele-Uku and Ogwashi-Uku, in continuation of its Local Government Area campaigns on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Speaking on each side of the campaigns, the youths, who expressed their desires to vote in the next election, as they willingly registered to vote and had obtained their Permanent Voter Cards, PVC, said the party had done much in the area to secure their votes, and that of the generality of the electorates in the area.
The youths amongst those interviewed said the PDP over the years had shown the political will to develop the country and the States without inflicting pain on the citizenry, unlike the APC’s misrule which had resulted in many living below the poverty level, and a high rise in the level of insecurity in the country.
They stated that with the past and present achievements of the PDP at the Federal level, especially in Delta State, giving kudos to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and other elected individuals in the State, voting for the candidates of the party in 2023 will be a good omen for the country.
Speaking during the Interview, Mr Jude Okafor from Onicha-Ugbo, said the party will win, as they seriously mobilizing for that. He stated that the crowds that are attending the party campaigns across the State are not make-up crowds or hired crowds but are PDP faithful and supporters who are also at their unit level mobilising voters to cast their votes for the party in all the elections.
“I can confidently say that the PDP will win in 2023 at all levels. The attendance at the party rallies is not hired, or make-up crowd, but a genuine crowd of members of the party, supporters, and friends. The party at the unit level is seriously mobilising for victory. So, again, I will tell you we will win.”
Mr. Okafor pointed out that he like many other youths at the campaign rally has their PVC and will go out to vote on that day, as he expressed his satisfaction with the Government in the area of provision of social amenities, and other items for the people, especially the youths, women in the area.
“For we the youths we are ready to vote, we have our PVCs ready. Don’t be deceived by those who tell you the youths are not ready. The youths are ready, and the PDP youths are very much ready.
He dismissed the likes of one Engr. Fidel Onwordi and the Labour Party, LP Supporters, saying PDP winning is not a journey that started today but had long started.
“Who is Fidel Onwordi, he is going nowhere, so likewise the supporters of the LP. Our votes will go to all the PDP candidates, most especially for what the party had done for us as a people. The Governor, our House of Assembly Member, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, and House of Representatives Member, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu had done much for us, through the PDP”. He stated.
On his part, Mr Austin Ogbogo who was at the rally at Issele-Uku, as an observer, agreed with the submission of Mr. Okafor, as he argued that the other political parties had not provided any better candidate that will upturn the chances of the PDP in the area.
He said though he does not belong to any political party, he is very sure of the party’s victory in 2023, as they had provided the leadership needs of the people in many ways.
“As I said I am not a politician, I do not belong to the PDP or any other political party, but as a Nigerian, will give our support to any political party, and for its exemplary leadership and provision of the needs of the people, I am supporting the candidates of the party, and I am very confident of its victory in 2023.”
Also speaking, Miss Nkonye George said the party will definitely win the elections in the State, and at the Federal level as the party have very good candidates. She said with what the present elected representatives of the people and the State Government had done so far, there is a need for continuity, and with the massive attendance at the rallies, the party will win in 2023.
“We can see what the State Government, under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is doing, and our representatives at the Legislative Arm of Government. The provision of infrastructure, training for youths and women, improvement in our education system, roads, healthcare, and many more. The party had done well, and we have to allow them to continue.
Miss George said her support for the party is not out of place, as she had seen all the political, economic, and social provisions of the Okowa’a Government. She said the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC had done nothing but introduce hardship in the country, and the people will be very happy to vote out the party in 2023.
“Nigerians are no longer ready to accommodate the APC at the Federal Level. The pain they had caused is unbearable. Hunger everywhere, with so much insecurity in the land.” She said.
Meanwhile, leaders of the party in both Local Governments assured the party of maximum support for all the candidates as they had already started their mobilisation to ensure total victory at the polls.
