ASABA/Nigeria: Immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has lauded the performance of the four Local Government Chairmen in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State, describing their first year in office as impactful and aligned with the developmental goals of the state and federal governments.

In a goodwill message issued on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, to mark their one-year anniversary in office, Elumelu expressed satisfaction with the efforts of Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye (Aniocha North), Hon. Jude Chukwunwike (Aniocha South), Hon. Innocent Esewezie (Oshimili North), and Hon. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili (Oshimili South), who were all inaugurated on July 15, 2024, by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.

According to Elumelu, the Chairmen have demonstrated people-oriented leadership and have keyed effectively into the Governor’s MORE Agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope blueprint for national development. He commended their commitment to grassroots governance and described their achievements as a model for functional local government administration.

“Their synergy with Governor Oborevwori in delivering developmental initiatives at the grassroots is commendable,” Elumelu stated. “The much-desired local government autonomy can only succeed with capable leadership, such as we have in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.”

He extended his appreciation to the Vice Chairmen and Leaders of the Legislative Arms in the councils for their support and collaboration with the Chairmen, which he said has been instrumental in achieving visible progress in local governance.

“I also take this opportunity to commend the Secretaries and Supervisory Councillors for their dedication and teamwork, which have helped to drive positive change in our communities,” Elumelu added.

The former federal lawmaker praised the Chairmen for embracing the state government’s development blueprint and expressed confidence that Governor Oborevwori is proud of their performance.

“I am very excited and satisfied with your wonderful performance in administering the various councils in our Federal Constituency. Keep up the good work,” he said.

Elumelu urged them to sustain the development momentum, particularly in youth inclusion and security. He stressed that ensuring the safety and welfare of the people remains a primary duty of any responsible government.

As the Chairmen mark their first year in office, Elumelu’s message of encouragement and endorsement highlights growing confidence in local governance within the Aniocha/Oshimili axis.
