Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa
The members of the Nigerian National Union of Unemployed Graduates (NNUUG), Delta State chapter had thanked the Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on the Youth Employment Training Schemes his government has launched with the aim of cushioning the pains the unemployed had faced for more than 15 years in the state.
The members of the association, made the statement on Wednesday, 8 of July, 2015 in a press statement through their Patron, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, who said that the governor had ask him to encourage them to collect and submit the forms for the trainings to enable them benefit from the government employment scheme, which will help to cushion the pains of the long years without job.
According to Bishop Nmalagu, the unemployed graduates are praying and praising him, the Governor, as they are now saying, “Their Messiah has come, after many years of graduating without job, and with the empowerment training programs, it means good future awaits them, and through the training, and empowerment, they will contribute immensely to the economic growth of Delta State”.
Speaking further, the Bishop said that the entire members of the NNUUG in Delta State is wishing the Governor better years ahead, even as he celebrates his birthday anniversary, as they pray “That a year added to his years will also bring joy, and peace to them, especially as they had been considered as beneficiaries of the government empowerment scheme, and it is a thing of joy to them”. He said.
In the statement, the members of the association, also assured the governor that they will put in their best during the training, as it will be an added advantage to their original academics and skills acquired in their various fields of study, and are promising that when they are accepted, they are going to contribute immensely to ensure that the essence of the training are truly achieved, and they will continue to keep peace and harmony, wherever they are, because they know the future holds the best for them, as they will also train others who will serve under them, and he, the governor will live to enjoy them”.
On the fear of members of the public on the hijacking of the scheme by some individuals and the forms filled online not to go through, as the government statement had asked the people to collect the forms from designated traditional rulers, the bishop said, that the members should not excise any fear as all arrangements for the collection and submission of the forms are for the good of the people.
The patron of the unemployed graduates also used the press statement to announce that already, there will be a conference of the unemployed graduates in the state, which the details will soon be made public.
