Senate President, Senator Olusola Saraki
Following the continuous leadership tussle rocking the National Assembly which has resulted in brawl, which had made Nigerians calling for the President to intervene, as it is a show of shame, the Presiding Bishop of God’s worshipers Assembly, Bishop Nmalagu Greatman has advised members of the house not to drag the name of the Country to the mud in their bid to get leadership positions.
Bishop Nmalagu made this appeal recently, when he addressed the press at the end of the Unemployed Graduates Association, recently in Obiaruku, Ukwuani LGA of Delta State.
In his address, the Bishop described the National Assembly as the engine room of the Country, and the current situation as “appalling hence the need for the President to intervene”. He said
The bishop said that all the APC and PDP members fighting for principal offices should stop if they are really fighting for the interest of the country.
“We have been talking of change and one of the causes of the economic declines in the Country was the issue of crises, especially the Boko-haram menace affecting the north east. But when the crisis now emanates from the National Assembly, then it becomes worse than Boko Haram, “So I wonder why the NASS members will be generating more crises for the nation as it only shows they don’t have Nigerians in mind, otherwise they won’t be fighting over principal offices.
The Bishop while urging the NASS members to sit up and move motions and make bills, instead of causing tensions in the Country, he also tasked the President on the need to call the various factions to order as they could create more internal wars than the previous administration did.
“The President should also not rely solely on what the APC are giving him as advise, instead let him put in place a machinery that could generate more ideas possibly from the outgone party, because they know how the problems yet unsolved started.
The Bishop who also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for not rushing into appointing political officers, enjoined him not to totally write off the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in considering his ministerial officers.
“The cabinet should be all inclusive of people from the ruling and opposition party, this makes an all-inclusive government. He concluded.
