ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has paid glowing tribute to former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, on the occasion of his 67th birthday, describing him as an outstanding statesman whose contributions to the development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria have left enduring legacies.
The governor said Orubebe’s years of dedicated public service and unwavering commitment to the advancement of oil-producing communities have earned him a distinguished place in the annals of Nigeria’s public service history.
In a goodwill message issued on Saturday through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori commended the former minister for his pivotal role in championing development initiatives that positively impacted millions of people across the Niger Delta region.
He noted that Orubebe distinguished himself in public office as a passionate advocate for the welfare of the people, particularly through policies and programmes aimed at addressing the developmental challenges facing communities in the oil-rich region.
According to the governor, Orubebe’s tenure as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs remains a significant chapter in the region’s development journey, as he spearheaded projects and interventions focused on infrastructure expansion, economic empowerment and improved living conditions for residents.
Oborevwori further remarked that beyond his accomplishments in government, the elder statesman has continued to provide valuable leadership and guidance, earning widespread respect as a voice of wisdom and experience in contemporary governance and nation-building.
The governor described the celebrant as one of Delta State’s most illustrious sons, whose commitment to justice, community development and service to humanity has inspired generations of leaders and citizens alike.
