Ikoyo-Eweto Lived A Life Of Service To The People, Says Okowa

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has described the late Dr. Isaac Ikoyo-Eweto,a former Commissioner For Information in the defunct Bendel State and a frontline politician as the master mind of the agricultural road map for his administration.
Governor Okowa stated this at the weekend during the burial ceremony of the deceased held at his home town, Okuovu community in Sapele Local Government Area.
The State governor while acknowledging the pivotal role played by the late Dr. Ikoyo-Eweto as a member of the Transition Committee, pointed out that as the leader of the Farmers Focused Group he ensured that agriculture was given priority attention in the agenda of his administration.
According to the Governor, the deceased always championed the course of the common people as he seized every opportunity to engage in activities that would promote and develop the welfare of the less privileged and vulnerable people in the society.
While calling on the deceased family to take solace in the fact that their father lived a life dedicated to the service of the people, Governor Okowa urged them to continue with the legacies he left behind.
Responding on behalf of the family, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Isaac Ikoyo-Eweto Junior, said they were overwhelmed by the numerous outpouring of love from people of different status, describing it as a clear evidence that his late father associated with everyone irrespective of their social standing.
He thanked the governor and other top politicians who stood by the family, and assured that they would uphold those virtues which endeared his late father to the hearts of many.
The Pro – Chancellor, Delta State University, Abraka, Professor Sam Oyovbaire said the late Dr. Ikoyo-Eweto, who was a staff of the university died in active service as a member of the Transition Committee, and gave an assurance that all he lived for would be given priority attention by the institution and the present administration.
