BOUNDARY CRISIS: Delta Community Leaders, Government Called To Take Action

OGHARA/Nigeria: The residents of Oghara in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, have called on the leaders of Oghara Kingdom and the government to wade into the issue of boundary that has resulted in the protests and shooting of guns by youths of the area.

The boundary issue that has led to the protest and shooting of guns by the Oghareki youths on the major road of Oghara has thrown the peaceful town of Oghara in tension.

The youths, who were seen along the major road removing every signpost with the address of Ogharefe from the Okpaye upstairs down to the council secretariat to Oghareki, noted that from the Okpaye upstairs to the council were for the Oghareki people.

One of the residents of Oghara who did not want his name mentioned, said if necessary action was not taken on time it could lead to more crises that could affect the peaceful coexistence that has existed over the years.

He pleaded with the traditional rulers and the government to wade into the issue as soon as possible to proffer possible solutions to avoid terrible occurrences.

Others said the issue of boundaries was for elders and not for youths, and urged the king, elders, and chiefs to resolve the issue amicably.
