ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has highlighted the contribution of Living Faith Church Worldwide founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, to education and youth development as the cleric marks his 72nd birthday.
Oborevwori, in a goodwill message issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, said Oyedepo’s influence had extended beyond Christian ministry to areas of education, leadership and human development.
The governor specifically cited Covenant University and Landmark University, founded under Oyedepo’s leadership, as institutions that have provided platforms for academic training, character development and the preparation of young people for the future.
Oborevwori also acknowledged Oyedepo’s decades of Christian ministry, saying his teachings and mentorship had influenced many people in Nigeria and beyond. He described the bishop as a “rare gift to Christendom” and commended what he described as his sustained commitment to service.
The governor said Oyedepo’s impact had made him a role model to many, including himself, particularly through his combination of religious leadership and efforts directed at developing people.
“Bishop Oyedepo is not only a father in the faith but also a role model whose life of service, integrity and visionary leadership continues to inspire millions, including me,” Oborevwori said.
He congratulated the cleric on attaining 72, describing the occasion as a milestone in a life devoted to what he characterised as service to God and humanity.
“Your commitment to nation-building, spiritual guidance and the empowerment of youths through quality education is truly commendable,” the governor added.
Oyedepo’s birthday has attracted messages from political leaders and Christian figures across the country. President Bola Tinubu also congratulated the bishop on September 27, citing his contributions to faith, education and human development, including through Covenant University and Landmark University.
Oborevwori prayed for continued strength, good health and divine grace for the cleric, wishing him many more years of service to the church and wider society.
Bishop David Oyedepo, who was born on September 27, 1954, is the founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel. He turned 72 on September 27, 2026.
