ABUJA/Nigeria: In what is now seen as a remarkable act of political foresight, Senator Ned Nwoko has emerged vindicated following the sweeping defection of Delta State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other top PDP figures, the realignment has confirmed what was once widely criticized: Nwoko’s earlier move to the APC was not only strategic, but prophetic.

Speaking on AIT’s Kakaaki, the senator’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, highlighted the backlash that followed the senator’s defection months ago, but noted that today’s events prove it was the right call.

“When Senator Ned Nwoko defected from the PDP to the APC, we were hit with backlash from all sides,” Dr. Nwoko recalled. “Even those closest to us criticized our decision. But as we now see, those who condemned us then have now joined us—a clear admission that Senator Nwoko saw what others failed to see.”

According to him, the decision was not about convenience but necessity—an urgent need to realign with a party structure that would enable the senator to fulfill his mandate to the people of Delta North.

He said the PDP had become toxic, stifling effective governance and public engagement. “It was a matter of principle and responsibility to move to where his people would benefit most,” he said.

Addressing concerns from long-standing APC members about the influx of new entrants, Dr. Nwoko assured that Senator Nwoko is committed to unity and reconciliation.

“We are not here to cause division but to unify and fortify. There will be full reconciliation between old and new APC members. Our goal is to deliver not just electoral victories, but real governance,” he said.

Dr. Nwoko called on all APC stakeholders in Delta to stay united, noting that the party’s three senators, including Senator Nwoko, form a strong leadership bloc as the state prepares for the 2027 elections.

“Our senator must be fully involved in decisions affecting his district. Governance should not bypass elected leaders—it must include them,” he insisted.

With the political terrain in Delta shifting rapidly, Senator Nwoko now stands not as a defector, but as a trailblazer whose bold decisions are reshaping the state’s political future.

His move, once derided, now serves as a textbook case of political timing and conviction—elevating him as one of the most strategic voices in Delta’s evolving democratic journey.
