ASABA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has no plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC), either now or in the foreseeable future, a chieftain of the party, Engineer Emmanuel Eboh, has declared.
Eboh dismissed as “vile and laughable propaganda” the rumours suggesting that the lawmaker was preparing to defect, insisting that Senator Nwoko remains a committed APC stalwart.
His clarification followed speculations triggered by a viral picture showing Delta North APC politician, Chief Emma Ejiofor, reportedly visiting former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, now a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Eboh said that, even if such a meeting took place, it had no connection whatsoever with Senator Nwoko.
He explained that courtesy visits among politicians across party lines were routine, stressing that the attempt to link Nwoko to the purported Amaechi-Ejiofor meeting was mischievous and a futile political intrigue.
In his words: “Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko is a faithful APC stalwart. He remains firm in support of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, the national leader of our party. He is totally committed to the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda and good governance in Delta.
“It is laughable for anyone to suggest that Ned is preparing to leave APC. To where? This is a wise man who saw tomorrow and triggered a political tsunami in the whole of Delta State. How can the first prominent political leader to move to APC leave a house he helped to build? Senator Nwoko stands in APC.”
Eboh further said the Senator was not unaware of the “negative propaganda” constantly being contrived against him, but maintained that Nwoko remained focused on his legislative duties, which have continued to earn him admiration and respect both within and outside Delta State.
