OLEH/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has restated his administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the Church and other faith-based organisations to promote peace, moral guidance and social transformation across the state.

The Governor made the pledge on Friday at the dedication of the Isoko Christian House in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area. He was represented at the ceremony by the Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza.

Describing the newly dedicated Isoko Christian House as a “sanctuary of unity, worship and purpose,” Governor Oborevwori said the edifice stands as a testament to the enduring faith, resilience and shared vision of the Isoko Christian community.

He commended the Isoko Christian Leaders Forum, the Isoko Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and other faith bodies for their collective effort in bringing the project to life, noting that their collaboration had produced not just a place of prayer but “a symbol of harmony, strength and hope for generations to come.”

“As Governor of Delta State, I am deeply inspired by this initiative,” he said. “It reminds us that when the body of Christ stands united, no challenge is insurmountable. Our administration remains firmly committed to partnering with the Church and other faith-based institutions in promoting peace, moral guidance and social transformation across our State.”

He emphasized the central role of the Church in value formation, family strengthening and nation-building, adding that the government recognizes the Church as a vital pillar in raising citizens who uphold truth and justice. “Together, we will continue to build a Delta State where righteousness exalts the land and justice flows like a mighty river,” he stated, referencing Amos 5:24.

Governor Oborevwori expressed optimism that the Isoko Christian House would serve as a centre for interdenominational fellowship, mentorship, dialogue and outreach. He said it would be a space where faith inspires service, hearts are uplifted, leaders are nurtured and communities transformed.

“As we dedicate this House today, let us also rededicate ourselves to the service of God, to the unity of the Church and to the progress of our people. May this moment mark the dawn of a new era of revival, faith and impact in the Isoko Nation and beyond,” he urged.

He further thanked the Isoko Christian community for their vision, sacrifice and unwavering faith, praying that the edifice would remain filled with God’s presence, resonate with praise and stand forever as a beacon of hope, unity and transformation
