Onyeme Mourns Nwaoboshi, Describes Late Senator’s Death as Painful Loss to Delta

ASABA/Nigeria: The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, describing his passing as shocking and deeply painful.

During the visit to the late senator’s residence in Asaba, Onyeme, who was accompanied by several political office holders, said the news of Nwaoboshi’s death came as a rude shock, noting that it was “one death too many.”

“I was shocked when I heard the news, but no one plays with death,” the Deputy Governor said, adding that the inevitability of death calls for submission to the will of God.

He urged the widow, Dr. Mrs Judith Nwaoboshi, to draw strength from the impactful life her husband lived and the respect he commanded as a politician and public servant.

“Death is inevitable; it has happened and we cannot question God. Take heart and be strong for your children,” Onyeme advised.

Responding, Mrs Nwaoboshi expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor and his entourage for identifying with the family in their moment of grief.

The Deputy Governor also signed the condolence register, writing: “My elder brother, your memory will forever live in my heart. May your gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord. Amen.”

Other prominent personalities who signed the condolence register included the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, Comrade Ovuozorie Macaulay, and Funkekeme Solomon.
