UCMA Clerics Pray for Dafinone, Seek Stronger Faith–Governance Partnership in Delta Central

SAPELE/Nigeria: The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has hosted a delegation of the Urhobo Christian Ministers Association (UCMA) at his residence in Sapele, Delta State, in a visit marked by prayers, dialogue and renewed commitment to peace and development across the district.

The delegation was led by the UCMA President, Most Rev. Prof. Solomon Gbakara, and formed part of the association’s ongoing engagement with public office holders to offer spiritual support and encourage ethical leadership in governance.

According to the UCMA leadership, the visit was primarily to pray for Senator Dafinone and to encourage him in his legislative duties at the National Assembly, particularly in advancing the interests of Delta Central.

The ministers commended the senator’s efforts and urged him to sustain the values of integrity, justice and service to the people.
Receiving the delegation, Senator Dafinone expressed profound appreciation, describing the visit as an honour to welcome “fathers of faith in God’s vineyard.”

He said the presence and prayers of the ministers underscored divine guidance for the district and its leadership.

“It was an honour to receive the Urhobo Christian Ministers Association at my Sapele residence,” the senator said, noting that the engagement provided an opportunity for productive discussions on the role of faith in fostering peace, moral leadership and sustainable development.

Dafinone also thanked the clerics for their prayers and counsel, stressing that effective collaboration between government and faith-based organisations remains vital to building a safer and more prosperous society. He reaffirmed his commitment to accountable service and responsive representation.

The delegation included prominent clerics such as Archbishop Goddowell O. Avwomakpa and other respected ministers, described as pillars of spiritual guidance and unity. The visit ended on a positive note, reinforcing the enduring bond between spiritual leadership and governance in Delta Central.
