Delta Commissioner, Lawmaker Commiserate With Journalist, Christy Ichofu

UZERE/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Chief Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh, and a member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ferguson Onwo, have commiserated with veteran journalist Princess Christy Ichofu over the death of her husband, Pastor Patrick Ichofu.

The duo visited the bereaved family at the country home of Ichofu’s son-in-law in Uzere, Isoko South Local Government Area, on Monday, September 7, 2026, to offer their condolences.

Obiodeh, who represents the state government in the delegation, and Onwo, who represents Isoko South Constituency II in the House of Assembly, urged the widow and other members of the family to find strength in their faith while mourning the deceased.

They also prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the family as it comes to terms with the loss.

The visitors described the late Pastor Ichofu as a peaceful and affable man who related well with others and showed understanding and kindness in his dealings with people.

They prayed for the repose of his soul and expressed sympathy with the family over his passing.

The condolence visit is among several expressions of sympathy extended to the Ichofu family by friends, colleagues and other sympathisers following the death of the veteran journalist’s husband.

The sympathisers have continued to pray for comfort and strength for the family during the period of mourning.
