ISELE-UKU/Nigeria: In a bold political move that may reshape the dynamics ahead of the 2027 general elections, leaders and critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, and Engr. Fidel Onwodi as consensus candidates for the next electoral cycle.
The endorsement was unanimously adopted during a high-powered stakeholders’ meeting held in Aniocha North and presided over by Dame Nkem Okwuofu. The gathering attracted an array of party chieftains, ward coordinators, youth and women leaders, as well as influential political actors from across the local government area.
At the meeting, participants endorsed the five political figures through a jointly signed resolution, expressing confidence in their leadership capacity, track records, and contributions to political stability and development at both the state and national levels.
Stakeholders explained that the endorsement followed extensive consultations and broad-based engagements within the party structure. According to them, the decision was driven by the need to preserve political continuity, strengthen party unity, and sustain effective representation and inclusive governance ahead of the 2027 polls.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was praised for his ongoing economic reforms, commitment to democratic governance, and efforts aimed at repositioning the nation for sustainable growth and development.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori also received commendation for what stakeholders described as impactful leadership through infrastructural development, empowerment initiatives, and the implementation of his administration’s MORE Agenda across Delta State.
Former Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa was lauded for his political influence, enduring legacy, and contributions to the peace, stability, and advancement of Delta State during and after his tenure in office.
Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu was equally applauded for his effective legislative representation, grassroots connection, constituency projects, and strategic leadership within the National Assembly.
Engr. Fidel Onwodi also earned widespread commendation from party faithful for his commitment to grassroots mobilization, community development efforts, and role in fostering unity and cooperation within the APC family in Aniocha North.
The climax of the meeting was the formal signing of a resolution by stakeholders, pledging total support and collective mobilization efforts toward ensuring the emergence of the endorsed leaders in the 2027 general elections without opposition.
Party leaders at the gathering also called on APC members and supporters to remain united, peaceful, and committed to strengthening the party structure while working toward the overall progress of Aniocha North, Delta State, and Nigeria.
Political analysts have described the development as a significant show of solidarity and strategic alignment within the APC in Aniocha North, especially as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
