ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator Ede Dafinone has described Chief Ighoyota Amori as a long-standing participant in the political development of Delta State, as the Chief Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori marks his 74th birthday.
In a birthday message to Amori, Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said the celebrant’s involvement in the state’s political affairs since 1999 had spanned several administrations and contributed to the development of political structures in Delta.
Dafinone said Amori’s political career had been marked by sustained involvement in public affairs, noting his interest in the development of Delta State and the unity of the Urhobo people.
He also acknowledged Amori’s position as a Pan-Urhobo leader, saying the celebrant had maintained an interest in the advancement of the Urhobo nation while recognising the importance of peace and unity across Delta State.
According to the senator, Amori’s continued presence in the state’s political space has been supported by his experience, accessibility and engagement with political and community issues.
Dafinone said Amori had contributed to political organisation and governance across successive administrations, making his 74th birthday an opportunity to reflect on his years of public service.
“Your remarkable journey in public service and politics has been defined by courage, resilience, loyalty and an enduring commitment to the growth and stability of Delta State,” he said.
The senator joined Amori’s family, associates and other well-wishers in celebrating the birthday and expressed gratitude for his life and continued involvement in public affairs.
He prayed for good health, wisdom and renewed strength for Amori, wishing him many more years of service to Delta State, the Urhobo nation and Nigeria.
