ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has congratulated former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, on their emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidates for Delta North and Delta South ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement personally signed by Senator Ede Dafinone of Delta Central Senatorial District and dated Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in which he described their victories as a clear reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in them by delegates, party leaders and stakeholders across both senatorial districts.
Dafinone noted that the emergence of the two leaders would further strengthen the APC and position the party strongly for victory in the 2027 elections.
According to him, the victories recorded by Senator Okowa and Senator Joel-Onowakpo underscored their acceptance and political relevance within the party.
He also expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the APC primaries across Delta State, describing the exercise as another demonstration of the unity, strength and growing democratic culture within the party.
“The emergence of experienced leaders like Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas further strengthens our party and positions the APC strongly for victory ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Dafinone stated.
The Delta Central lawmaker called on party faithful, supporters and stakeholders across the three senatorial districts to remain united and committed to the shared vision of progress, development and effective representation for the people of Delta State.
He urged members to sustain the spirit of unity displayed during the primaries and work collectively toward securing victory for the APC in the next general elections.
