Ned Nwoko Insists He Won Delta North APC Primary, Cites Ward-by-Ward Evidence

Senator Ned Nwoko

ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko has maintained that he emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for Delta North, insisting that he possesses extensive video evidence from across the district to support his claim.

The senator made the assertion during an interview on ARISE Television, where he alleged that the primary election conducted across the 98 wards in Delta North clearly showed his victory and vowed to present the evidence to the party leadership.

According to Nwoko, video recordings obtained from all the wards captured the voting process and results, which he said reflected the true outcome of the exercise.

“The APC primaries for Delta North took place across 98 wards. I have ward-by-ward video evidence showing that I won the election, and I will submit it to the party,” he stated.

Nwoko further alleged that midway into the collation process, his team was informed that ward-level declaration of results would no longer take place as initially planned.

He said party officials later communicated that the final declaration would be made at the national level, a development his camp accepted in anticipation of a transparent process.

“Halfway through the process, we received information that no results would be announced at the ward level. We were told the results would be announced at the national level,” he said.

The senator, however, expressed concern over what he described as the emergence of results from only one ward, alleging that the ward was politically aligned with former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

“Instead, we were suddenly presented with a result from a single ward closely connected to the former governor, and that result was used as the basis for declaring the outcome of the entire primaries,” Nwoko alleged.

He insisted that results from the overwhelming majority of the 98 wards supported his claim of victory in the Delta North APC senatorial primary election.

The APC National Assembly primaries held on May 18, 2026, have attracted allegations of irregularities and manipulation in some states, prompting calls for internal reviews and intervention by party leaders.

The party leadership has, however, assured members of fairness and due process in handling complaints arising from the exercise.

The APC also indicated that final results from the primaries would be officially announced by the National Working Committee (NWC) following a comprehensive review process.
