Dafinone Thanks APC Leaders, Members After Delta Central Primary Victory

SAPELE/Nigeria: Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has expressed profound appreciation to leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his victory at the Delta Central Senatorial Primary Election, describing the outcome as a collective triumph for the party and its supporters across the district.

The appreciation message was contained in a statement personally signed by Senator Ede Dafinone of Delta Central Senatorial District and dated May 18, 2026, in which he thanked party leaders, delegates, stakeholders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.

Dafinone described the victory as a defining moment for the APC in Delta Central and pledged not to take the support and sacrifices of party members for granted.

He commended the conduct of the primaries, describing the process as transparent, peaceful, free and fair.

According to him, the peaceful and credible conduct of the exercise demonstrated that democratic values remained strong within the APC despite the highly political nature of Delta Central.

He specifically appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, whom he described as leader of the party in Delta State, for his commitment to unity, stability and progress within the APC.

The senator also extended gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee and the APC National Assembly Primary Committee for ensuring what he described as a level playing field during the exercise.

Dafinone reserved special appreciation for party elders, leaders, women groups, youths, stakeholders and thousands of supporters who stood by him throughout the primary process.

“To our respected party elders, leaders, women, youths, stakeholders and the thousands of supporters who stood by me throughout this process, I say thank you.

“This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to every loyal party member who believes in unity, progress, inclusion and the future of Delta Central,” he stated.

He also praised the professionalism displayed by the Collation Officer, Hon. Dr. Okiemute E. Benjamin; Secretary of the APC National Assembly Primary Committee, Barr. Nusa Amagbor; and committee member, Abimbola Samuel Dart, for ensuring transparency and credibility in the process.

The senator noted that the 116,252 votes recorded during the primary reflected the trust and confidence party members had in the collective vision for Delta Central.

Dafinone further extended a hand of fellowship to former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, calling for unity and reconciliation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He urged all party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the shared goal of securing victory for the APC.

The lawmaker assured supporters that he would continue to work towards effective representation, development and the advancement of the interests of Delta Central.

He pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him and called on members to move forward in unity, peace and determination as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.
