OLEH/Nigeria: Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State to sustain grassroots mobilisation and avoid complacency, insisting that the large turnout at the party’s campaign flag-off in Oleh must translate into convincing electoral victories in 2027.
Dafinone gave the charge on Thursday, November 5, 2026, while speaking with journalists at Oleh Township Stadium in Isoko South Local Government Area, where the APC formally commenced its campaign activities in Delta State.
The senator expressed confidence that the party could win all five categories of elections in the state, describing the attendance at the Oleh rally, alongside the gathering in Ozoro, as an indication of its growing organisational strength.
He attributed the party’s anticipated electoral success to the performance of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which he said were strengthening public confidence in the APC.
On the national economy, Dafinone maintained that the Tinubu administration’s reforms were beginning to produce positive results, particularly in exchange rate management, macroeconomic stability and the availability of essential commodities.
He also pointed to the relative stability of the naira and improvements in Nigeria’s foreign reserves, claiming that the country’s reserves had reached a level not recorded in 18 years.
According to him, although the reforms initially imposed economic difficulties on Nigerians, their longer-term benefits were becoming increasingly evident.
The Delta Central lawmaker said the combination of federal economic reforms and infrastructure development under Oborevwori’s administration would provide the APC with a strong basis for seeking another mandate from Deltans.
However, he warned party leaders and supporters against assuming that the impressive attendance at political rallies would automatically translate into votes.
Dafinone stressed that the party must maintain its mobilisation efforts across communities, wards and polling units until the elections were concluded.
“In this coming elections, we want to win with convincing figures, overwhelming that our opponents would have no reason to go to court,” he said.
He urged APC members to remain united, strengthen their engagement with voters and ensure that supporters understood the importance of participating in the electoral process.
The senator also commended the Delta State APC leadership for its decision to promote an issue-based campaign, urging party members to concentrate on governance, policy achievements and development records rather than engage in personal attacks against political opponents.
He advised supporters to respond to criticisms by presenting evidence of the administration’s performance in infrastructure development, economic management and other sectors.
Dafinone reiterated that the party’s electoral strategy should be built around the achievements of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations, supported by effective grassroots organisation.
He maintained that the enthusiasm witnessed at the Oleh campaign flag-off provided an opportunity for the APC to strengthen its political structures across Delta State, but insisted that sustained mobilisation would be necessary to achieve the party’s projected five-over-five victory in 2027.
