OLEH/Nigeria: Former Delta State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Delta North, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has challenged party members to build a statewide mobilisation network capable of delivering more than two million votes for the party in the 2027 general elections.

Okowa made the call on Thursday at the APC campaign flag-off in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, where he urged party leaders and supporters to look beyond their immediate political constituencies and work towards securing victories across Delta State.

He said the forthcoming elections would test the ability of Deltans to unite behind a common political direction, stressing that the APC must demonstrate its strength across Delta North, Delta South and Delta Central.

The former governor identified the presidential and governorship elections, alongside contests for the National Assembly and Delta State House of Assembly, as critical components of the party’s electoral objective.

Setting a target of more than two million votes, Okowa said the figure was achievable if party members maintained effective coordination and took their mobilisation efforts down to individual polling units.

“Delta must speak with one voice in 2027,” he told party supporters.

He specifically urged political leaders and stakeholders in Isoko not to restrict their participation to the interests of their immediate locality, but to regard the campaign as a collective effort requiring support from every part of the state.

Okowa also emphasised the importance of grassroots organisation, calling on APC members to reach voters in their respective communities and wards while remaining vigilant throughout the electoral process.

He further urged party faithful to protect their votes at polling units, noting that the party’s electoral expectations would depend on effective participation and commitment at the grassroots.

His remarks placed the responsibility for achieving the APC’s projected electoral target on the party’s organisational structures and its ability to coordinate supporters across the three senatorial districts.

The Oleh rally marked the formal commencement of the Delta APC’s campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
