ASABA/Nigeria: In a renewed push to strengthen security and curb criminal activities, the Delta State Police Command, in collaboration with its Anambra State counterpart, has carried out a coordinated patrol operation along critical waterways spanning the Second Niger Bridge axis to the Asaba Grand Hotel area.
The joint operation, which involved operatives from the Marine Units of both commands, was reinforced by personnel of the Buffalo Team under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, underscoring a strategic approach to tackling emerging security threats in the region.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, said the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts by the Command to enhance safety for residents and commuters while maintaining a strong security presence along vulnerable corridors.
He noted that all officers deployed for the operation were adequately equipped with life jackets, in line with safety protocols and professional standards required for marine policing duties, adding that the patrol was conducted successfully without any incident.
The Command described the initiative as a proactive measure aimed at deterring criminal elements and reinforcing public confidence in the security architecture across Delta State.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies with timely and credible information that could aid ongoing operations and crime prevention efforts.
The Command reiterated its resolve to sustain joint security operations and strategic collaborations to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents of Delta State.
