Delta Central Senator Congratulates Okoro, Okpomor on NBA National Executive Elections

ABUJA/Nigeria: The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District has congratulated two prominent legal practitioners from Delta State, Chief Oghenero Okoro and Mrs. Gladys Aghogho Okpomor, following their election into key national executive positions of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

Senator Ede Dafinone, in a congratulatory message, described the election of Chief Okoro as First Vice President of the NBA and Mrs. Okpomor as Assistant General Secretary of the association as a deserving recognition of their professionalism, leadership and longstanding commitment to the legal profession.

He said their emergence into the national leadership of the NBA represents a significant achievement for Delta State and the Urhobo Nation, noting that both legal practitioners have distinguished themselves through integrity, competence and dedicated service over the years.

The lawmaker recalled Chief Okoro’s tenure as former Chairman of the NBA Warri Branch and Mrs. Okpomor’s service as former Assistant General Secretary of the Young Lawyers Forum, Minna Branch, describing their records as evidence of the qualities that earned them the confidence of members of the association.

According to the statement, their election reflects the value of hard work, excellence and unwavering commitment to the ideals of justice, constitutional democracy and the rule of law.

Dafinone expressed confidence that the newly elected officials would provide effective leadership in advancing the objectives of the Nigerian Bar Association, promoting judicial independence and supporting reforms aimed at strengthening public confidence in Nigeria’s justice system.

He urged the duo to deploy their experience in advancing the legal profession while serving as worthy ambassadors of Delta State and the Urhobo Nation at the national level.

The senator further noted that their emergence should inspire young lawyers and other professionals to embrace integrity, resilience and selfless service as enduring pathways to leadership and national relevance.

He wished both officials wisdom, good health and divine guidance as they assume their new responsibilities, expressing optimism that their tenure would strengthen the Nigerian Bar Association and contribute positively to the nation’s legal and democratic institutions.
