ASABA/Nigeria: A member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Oshimili South State Constituency, Hon. Ifechukwukwu Bridget Anyafulu (Esq.), has described the forthcoming Delta State Economic Summit as a strategic initiative capable of unlocking new investment opportunities and accelerating sustainable economic development across the state.
Anyafulu, in a goodwill message, said Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s decision to convene the summit reflects a deliberate effort to strengthen economic planning through collaboration among government, the private sector, development partners, investors, academia and other key stakeholders.
According to the lawmaker, the summit presents an opportunity to showcase Delta State’s economic potential to local and international investors while generating practical ideas that will support long-term growth, expand enterprise and position the state as a preferred investment destination.
She noted that bringing together critical stakeholders to deliberate on the state’s economic future is in line with global best practices, adding that such engagements are essential for developing policies capable of attracting investment, stimulating innovation and driving inclusive growth.
Anyafulu said the Oborevwori administration has continued to prioritise transparency, accountability and responsible governance, expressing the view that the government’s emphasis on implementing development programmes has strengthened public confidence and contributed to ongoing infrastructural and socio-economic development.
She further stated that the economic summit aligns with the administration’s broader objective of building a resilient and diversified economy through industrialisation, agricultural development, support for small and medium-scale enterprises, job creation and increased private sector participation.
The legislator also commended Governor Oborevwori for aligning the administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), describing the approach as one that encourages innovation, partnerships and measurable development outcomes.
Expressing optimism about the expected outcome of the summit, Anyafulu said the resolutions reached by participants should translate into practical policies that will accelerate economic growth, attract greater investment and expand opportunities for businesses and residents across the state.
She congratulated the governor on what she described as his commitment to pursuing initiatives aimed at strengthening the state’s economy and improving the welfare of the people.
Anyafulu also wished delegates, development partners, investors, captains of industry and other participants a productive engagement, expressing confidence that the summit would reinforce Delta State’s drive towards sustainable economic development and greater competitiveness within Nigeria and the African continent.
