Delta Governor Urges Couples: “Walk with God in Your Union”

SAPELE/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has emphasized the importance of spiritual alignment in marriage, urging couples to embrace a journey of faith together during his address at the wedding of Anita and Major Bulus Shunah at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Jesse, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Oborevwori, speaking at the ceremony, highlighted the significance of walking hand in hand with both God and one’s partner in marriage. He expressed joy in participating in the celebration and noted the presence of prominent figures, attributing their attendance to the esteemed reputation of Chief John Nani, the bride’s father, within the community.

In his sermon titled “Walk with God and one another in all you do,” Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Oleh, Rt. Rev’d John Aruakpor, echoed Governor Oborevwori’s sentiment, emphasizing the necessity of spiritual and relational harmony for a prosperous marriage. Quoting from Psalm 127, Bishop Aruakpor encouraged the newlyweds to trust in divine guidance for the fulfillment of their marital purpose.

Furthermore, Bishop Aruakpor commended Governor Oborevwori and his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for their commitment to upholding moral standards in leadership within Delta State. He praised Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to ongoing projects and initiation of new developments across the state, predicting a promising future under his leadership.

The ceremony, attended by dignitaries including Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, former member of the House of Representatives Hon. Halims Agoda, and members of the State Executive Council, celebrated not only the union of Anita and Major Bulus Shunah but also the enduring values of faith and community within Delta State.
