Delta Police Bust Drug Den, Arrest ‘Madam Do Good’, Recover Gun from Suspected Cultist

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on illicit drug trade and criminal activities, recording major breakthroughs with the arrest of a suspected drug baron in Asaba and a cult suspect in Warri.

The operations, carried out under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, were disclosed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, who reaffirmed the command’s resolve to tackle drug-related crimes through proactive policing.

According to the statement, operatives of the DOPS Buffalo Patrol Team, in collaboration with members of the Achalla Ibusa Vigilante, on March 17, 2026, stormed a drug hideout at the Power Line axis in Asaba during a sting operation.

The raid led to the arrest of a suspected drug baron, popularly known as “Madam Do Good,” alongside six other suspects identified as Faith Uyaterimo, Peter Nnamani, Paul Nnamani, Abuchi Miracle and three others.

Police said several illicit substances were recovered during the operation, including Ice, Colorado, Canadian Loud, weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, and tramadol, with all suspects and exhibits currently in custody as investigations continue.

In a separate operation on March 19, 2026, at about 12 noon, operatives of Ekpan Police Station arrested an 18-year-old suspect, Ovie Ejeh, at Wangwe College area in Warri following credible intelligence linking him to cult-related activities.

The police disclosed that the suspect was apprehended while acting suspiciously, and a search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally fabricated cut-to-size single-barrelled gun loaded with two live cartridges.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to being a member of a cult group, while both the suspect and the recovered firearm have been taken into custody.

Reiterating the command’s stance, CP Adesola warned that drug dealers and criminal elements would be tracked down and brought to justice, noting that proactive policing remains the most effective strategy in modern crime fighting.

He further directed Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders across the state to sustain intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks.

The command assured residents of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging members of the public to support security agencies with credible information.
