ASABA/Nigeria: In a bid to effectively showcase the policies, programmes, and achievements of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Delta State Information Commissioner, Dr. Osuoza Ifeanyi Michael, has stressed the importance of impactful sensitization campaigns by the State Orientation Bureau.
Dr. Osuoza emphasized this need during a courtesy visit by the Executive Assistant on Communications to the governor and CEO of Delta State Orientation Bureau, Dr. Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, along with the management staff of the Bureau in Asaba on Monday.
According to Dr. Osuoza, the reorientation of citizens to foster patriotism and enhance their stakeholder roles in governance requires creativity, deliberate quality content, commitment, and professional skills from the Bureau’s workforce. He urged the Bureau to innovate in line with the state governor’s vision and objectives.
He further commended Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe’s expertise, citing their past collaboration during the 2023 general elections. Dr. Osuoza expressed confidence in Dr. Latimore’s capabilities and assured government support for the Bureau’s endeavors.
“My charge to you is to do things differently to upscale the desired impact expected by government and the governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. You must put on your thinking cap, create result-oriented ideas, and drive them to logical conclusions,” Dr. Osuoza stated.
He emphasized the importance of reaching target audiences, particularly in rural communities, to educate them on civic responsibilities, government projects, and the need for partnership in progress with the administration.
In response, Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged the Bureau’s loyalty and cooperation. He highlighted the governor’s commitment to transforming the state and assured Dr. Osuoza of their dedication to showcasing the government’s achievements.
“Our visit is to congratulate you on your assumption of office. You will recall that after your confirmation as Commissioner Designate, I put a call to congratulate you, because I was so excited that someone who worked very hard to drive the governor’s campaign Media and Publicity team emerged as the leader of the state information structures,” Dr. Oghenesivbe remarked.
He affirmed the Bureau’s readiness to work consistently with the Information Commissioner to achieve the state government’s objectives encapsulated in the MORE Agenda.
The visit, which marked the first government agency visit since Dr. Osuoza’s assumption of office, highlighted the proactive approach of Dr. Oghenesivbe’s leadership. Dr. Osuoza appreciated the gesture and assured the Bureau of his support and collaboration in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Dr. Oghenesivbe was accompanied by directors and the Assistant Chief Information Officer of Delta State Orientation Bureau, DSOB, during the visit.
