Delta State’s Deputy Governor Commends Diaspora Confidence in MORE Agenda

JESSE/Nigeria:  In a testament to the burgeoning trust in the leadership of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, expressed his delight at the swift influx of investments from Deltans residing abroad.

This commendable development unfolded as Onyeme inaugurated the Ohwotemu Event Gallery at Jesse Junction in the Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State on Sunday.

While marking the occasion, Deputy Governor Onyeme underscored that the 100-day milestone of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori’s administration has been characterized by a flurry of project commissions. He asserted that not only has the government diligently pursued its MORE (Making Our Roads Excellent) Agenda, but Deltans in the diaspora have also showcased their unwavering confidence by initiating projects aimed at bolstering youth employment within the state.

“Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, introduced a development agenda called the M.O.R.E Agenda, promising increased development and building upon the achievements of previous administrations.”

He further elucidated, “So if the previous governments constructed roads, we are going to witness a substantial expansion in our road infrastructure; the electricity concerns that you’ve raised, by the grace of God, will be addressed, bringing power to your localities.”

Highlighting the recent surge in project commissions, Onyeme declared,

“Just last week, we began celebrating our 100 days in office, marking the occasion with the commissioning of about five projects in Asaba and its environs. This week, we are slated to commission an additional five projects, with the promise of even more in the coming week.”

“Until the middle of next month, we will continue to unveil more and more projects as we mark our 100 days in office.”

Onyeme celebrated the diaspora’s investment in Delta, emphasizing that it affirms their endorsement of the MORE Agenda.

He remarked, “I am delighted to commission this project, executed by an individual, as a clear demonstration that Deltans living abroad have embraced our MORE Agenda and are eager to return home to invest. There truly is no place like home, and it is our collective duty to enhance Delta for future generations.”

He reassured, “While we respect the concept of migration, we are diligently working to make Delta the preferred destination for those considering relocation from Europe to Africa. Delta is a secure haven for investments.”

He extended his gratitude to Chief Felix Akpona, the Executive Director of the Ohwotemu Event Gallery, for his valuable contribution to the state’s development. Saying Akpona’s alignment with the MORE Agenda, affirming that the project signifies a step forward in the journey to a better Delta.

In response, Chief Felix Akpona,  expressed his appreciation to the Deputy Governor for promptly accepting his invitation. He elucidated that the project is a testament to his commitment to local development and appealed to the state government to further extend its development initiatives to the people.

Notable figures who joined Deputy Governor Onyeme at the event included Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Lion Robinson Omonigho, and Hon. Fidelis Oputa.
