Delta to Rebrand Image Through Pageantry, Value Reorientation

Asaba: The Delta State Government said it is poised to ensure that the image of the State is rebranded through beauty contest and cultural reformation.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah, stated this while receiving on courtesy call the winner of Little Miss Queen Delta Beauty Pageant Contest, Miss Kelechi Osirike, in Asaba.

The Commissioner noted that he was impressed with the courage and high sense of maturity displayed by the winner and counseled to see herself as an embodiment of the face New Delta and image-maker of the State.

He advised little beauty queen to be part of the crusade against cultism, child abuse, indecent dressing and teenage prostitution, adding that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa would continue to encourage creativity and talent display among youth in the State.

The Information Commissioner used the opportunity to reaffirmed government’s policy in ensuring that both public and private schools in the State would no longer receive approval without sporting activities, noting that already schools had been given a time frame to upgrade.

The winners of Little Miss Queen Delta, appealed to the State Government to support her with necessary assistance to enable her succeed.

While thanking those that contributed to her success, Miss Kelechi Osirike pointed out that she would partner with the relevant agencies to enable her execute her pet project.
