AWKA/Nigeria: Entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Frank Igbojindu, has emphasized that investment in education remains one of the most valuable ways to secure future wealth, countering the growing perception among youths that education is a scam.
Igbojindu, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Akpoazaa Foundation, made this assertion at a press conference on Friday in Awka while unveiling the foundation’s scholarship scheme and skill acquisition programmes for 2025.
According to him, quality education plays a crucial role in addressing personal and societal challenges while fostering national development.
“At Akpoazaa Foundation, we believe so much in education because it is the key to securing a better future in Nigeria. This is why we are committed to correcting the wrong narrative that education is a scam,” he stated.
He disclosed that the foundation has continued to invest in education and vocational training for indigent persons across Anambra State and the entire Southeast to empower young people, make them self-reliant, and equip them to contribute meaningfully to society.
“As part of our initiatives this year, we are introducing the Akpoazaa Media Factory to train 1,000 youths in essential skills that will address critical gaps in the media industry.
“In celebration of my 40th birthday, we will also sponsor the school fees, JAMB, and WAEC fees of 1,000 indigent students. Additionally, we are supporting the Dozzy Quiz Competition at Legacy University, Okija, Anambra,” he said.
Igbojindu further announced that the foundation would organize the Anambra State Teachers’ Competition, as well as Mathematics and Igbo quiz competitions for senior secondary schools. Additionally, 250 Junior Secondary School 1 students across the Southeast would be selected to benefit from the foundation’s scholarship scheme.
“There will also be a Southeast University Quiz Competition and a ‘Best Brain Competition’ to recognize outstanding graduating students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
“Beyond education, we are committed to humanitarian causes. A three-bedroom bungalow is currently under construction for a widow in Okija who is in dire need, and it will be handed over in April,” he added.
Igbojindu expressed gratitude to De Imperial Philanthropic Family, Dr. Ernest Obiejesi, and Dr. Daniel Chukwudozie for their unwavering support toward education and humanitarian efforts.
“The Akpoazaa Foundation remains dedicated to fostering change and creating a better future for our youths. We appeal to well-meaning individuals and groups to support this noble cause,” he said.
