ASABA/Nigeria: Flybird RPAS has unveiled a suite of remotely piloted aircraft solutions designed to improve infrastructure inspection, operational safety and asset monitoring across Africa’s energy industry as operators increasingly embrace digital technologies to reduce operational risks and costs.
The aviation technology company showcased the solutions at the 25th NOG Energy Week Conference and Exhibition in Abuja, where its Chief Executive Officer, Chanel Scott, said growing demand for intelligent aerial systems reflects the changing operational needs of the continent’s energy sector.
Scott said engagements with industry stakeholders during the conference showed that energy companies are placing greater emphasis on technologies that improve safety, strengthen asset integrity and support faster decision-making through real-time aerial data.
“We had the opportunity to engage organisations seeking innovative technologies that improve safety, operational efficiency and asset management. The quality of conversations and partnerships initiated during the event validates our strategy of delivering world-class RPAS solutions tailored to Africa’s industrial landscape,” she said.
According to her, the company also opened discussions with prospective clients and strategic partners on drone operations, offshore aviation support, aircraft management and other specialised aviation services aimed at supporting energy and industrial operations.
The conference attracted international oil companies, indigenous operators, regulators, government agencies, engineering firms and technology providers, with discussions focusing on digital innovation, energy security and operational efficiency across the industry.
Flybird Group also outlined plans to expand its aviation services beyond drone operations by integrating aircraft management, business aviation, offshore helicopter support, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), as well as aviation advisory services.
Group Managing Director of Flybird Group, Capt. Ahmed Borodo, said the company’s participation formed part of its long-term strategy to build an integrated aviation platform capable of meeting the evolving needs of Africa’s energy sector.
