Like it has often been said, those who have attained the height of success in their chosen career, many of them never got what they have on a platter of gold. Many of such people rose from an obscure background to prominence. Through dint of hard work and divine favour of the Almighty God some attain greatness.  Remember our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, though He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, He was born in a manger where flocks were tendered in that little town of Bethlehem in Nazareth of Judea. He came from an obscure background, humbled Himself as a servant leader. Despite His glory as the Son of God who came as the Messiah of the entire world, He never prided Himself over the people.

No wonder many could not accept his claims as the Son of God in His time on earth. A true leader is never born of a wealthy father who will never know the pains of the people. Take a clue from Chief James Ibori, a former Governor of Delta State who later became the Governor of Delta State. His story is the same of Jesus Christ who came from a very humble background.

The same is told of Hon. Ambassador Gabriel Etaoghenevwegba Chukwuma Oyibode, the founder of Hon. Gabriel Oyibode Foundation, an NGO, he floated to address the plights of the poor in the society. Hon. Oyibode came from a very humble background at Ezionum in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State paternally while his mother hails from Kokori in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, thus making him a son of Delta North and Delta Central. Hon. Oyibode is a proper Delta born since he also has a link with Delta South where his ground mother, the mother who gave birth to the father hails from. The young and vibrant entrepreneur, an estate consultant, administrator per excellence, employer of labour who has more than 100 persons on his pay roll, a philanthropist that has positively affected lives of Nigerians, a dispute resolution specialist name it came from a very humble and disciplined background.

To say Hon. Ambassador Gabriel Oyibode is a humanitarian guru, would be an understatement. From stories said of him, we were told across Delta State and a personal observation, we were made to understand, the stuff he is made of as a free giver, a God fearing personality and a very honest Nigerian who will never harm a fly let alone human being created by God. Hon. Oyibode lost his father when he was a toddler of only 5years old. Since then he never knew the warmth of a father but was left alone to be breed and to be nurtured from a single woman who struggled to raise him and his other siblings.

Ambassador Oyibode whose father left them early in life to the cold hands of death, was brought up in the customs and traditions of the Urhobos his mother’s people having relocated back home from Lagos where he was born to reunite with her family members due to the death of her husband. But since the advent of politic 10 years ago, Oyibode began his journey back home to his root to register with the peoples democratic party in ward 7 Ezionum, this it to enable him participate in the politic at Abuja where he resides without any knowledge that he will come back home one day to join the gubernatorial race.

Like he often says, “I have the divine mandate to rule my people as a servant leader having been called upon by God to lead my people as their messiah. I never dreamt of this one day, until the prophesy began to manifest from men of God, the Christians, the Moslems, Imam and even the pagans that I have been ordained to govern my people”. He added that “I am not in Delta State to make noise because others are doing such; I am here to tell you in this course of my consultations that I am not doing this so that I can be settled tomorrow with 10 million naira, God forbid. But I am here to tell you that I have been divinely called upon to govern the state come 2015 since power must change hands”.

He added that he was in Delta State to seek for the blessings of his people, so that the rough journey would be easy for him and as well to ask for their guidance on how to go about the journey at government house come 2015. He told the people across the three senatorial districts that he alone cannot do it except they work with him. Ambassador Chukwuma Oyibode, Delta State Gubernatorial aspirant 2015, the servant man, a Real Estate Consultant, a businessman and a philanthropist, a man with dual ethnicity, born on 28th April, 1968 in Lagos into the families of late Engr. Samson Oyibode Ogwu of Ezionum Kingdom in Ukwuani Local Government Area and Madam Juliana Oghenekevwe Emonefe of Urhuokpe Urhuekpagha in Kokori town of Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State Nigeria pledged to ensure infrastructural renewal and expansion, provide free technical education, revitalized agriculture and built agro-allied industries, lead an economic and industrial revolution in the area of seaports and transportation which will harness the drive and entrepreneurial spirits of Deltans and by the grace of God, “I see industrial revolution across Delta State” he stated.

He added that in his mission statement, he would provide world class health care and eradicate traveling abroad for medical check up, while he would engage Deltans in Diaspora to invest and take part in the growth of the state as well as uniting and repositioning the Anioma Nation with all other ethnic groups in Delta State by the grace of God, ensure concrete dividends of democracy.

While addressing traditional rulers at Igbide, the Obukeni 1, Ovie of Igbide, General Paul Ufuoma Omu (rtd), another prominent Chief at Owelogbo, Sir Peter Simeon Efenudu, a one time secretary to the Delta State government at Otohwe, Chief Onosorhu at Udu, PDP chieftain at Ukwuani his home town, DPP decampees and returnees, Chief Fred Majemite at Ughelli of his intentions to run for the position, he explained to the people that because of his credible credentials and contributions to the advancement of humanity, he has been conferred with the prestigious award of the youth empowerment and development,

In all the places visited so far, including the palace of the Asaba of Asaba Prof. Chike Edoziem, Chief Okiapele, alias Gbragada in Sapele, Chief Edwin E.K. Clark, Chief Joe Omene (UPU) representative amongst several others too numerous for mention, since space would not allow it, the people having been schooled and properly informed on his intimidating and quality credentials, have one thing in common. This is our next Governor they chorused in unionism, have spoken in one voice that Hon. Gabriel Oyibode is the hope for Deltans come 2015. They have given their blessings and assured that they will support the young man to Government House Asaba come 2015. They have all identified with him as the next messiah who will build upon the enviable legacies of the incumbent governor Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan.

No wonder the Delta Central women in one of their gatherings at Agbor, threw their weight behind Hon. Oyibode vowing that they will resist any attempt to short change him at any level before he goes to the government house. The youths at Owelogbo, those of Ukwuani have also jointly agreed that it is Oyibode or never this time, assuring that their support for the young man is irreversible.  Those of Okpe and Sapele Local Government Areas including those of Ethiope West Local Government Area who have not seen the governorship hopeful have equally pledged their support for him appealing that he should book a date to visit them like other communities he has gone so far so that they can know him one on one.
