IKERE-EKITI/Nigeria: The Ikere Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (IkereCCIMA) has secured membership of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), opening a new channel for businesses in Ikere-Ekiti to engage with the wider national business community.
The admission was communicated in a letter dated September 22, 2026, signed by NACCIMA Director-General, Olusola Obadimu, FCIoD, following the approval of the NACCIMA Council at its meeting in Nsukka, Enugu State, on September 17.
IkereCCIMA’s membership gives the chamber access to NACCIMA’s national business network, including participation in council engagements, policy consultations, business information and opportunities for interaction with investors and other chambers within and outside Nigeria.
Reacting to the development, the chamber’s pioneer president and Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Japan, Amb. Oluwayimika Ayotunwa Olumilua, described the admission as an important milestone in the development of the organisation.
Olumilua said the recognition reflected the efforts of the pioneer executive council, Board of Trustees and founding members who established the chamber to provide businesses and entrepreneurs in Ikere with an organised platform for representation and development.
He said the chamber was conceived to give a stronger voice to traders, farmers, artisans, women and young entrepreneurs while creating opportunities for them to connect with wider markets and business networks.
The pioneer president expressed confidence that the current leadership of IkereCCIMA, headed by Prince Ade Ajayi, would build on the foundation already laid and use the NACCIMA platform to pursue partnerships, investments and other opportunities that could benefit businesses in the community.
He also disclosed plans to explore stronger economic connections between IkereCCIMA, businesses in Ekiti State and potential Japanese partners, including the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
According to him, such engagements could also create opportunities for members of the chamber to participate in international trade exhibitions and business platforms in Japan.
NACCIMA, in conveying the admission, urged IkereCCIMA to participate actively in its programmes and activities.
The development marks a new phase for the Ikere chamber as it moves from a community-based business platform into a wider national chamber network, with the potential to expose local enterprises to broader policy, trade and investment opportunities.
Olumilua summed up the significance of the development with the expression, “from Ikere to the world,” while congratulating members, stakeholders and the founding team of IkereCCIMA.
