Information Commissioner Designate, Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, Inspires Journalists Amid Confirmation

ASABA/Nigeria: Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, the Delta State Commissioner of Information Designate, , has passionately charged journalists, encouraging them to keep hope alive as a new chapter unfolds in their professional landscape.

This exhortation came in the wake of Dr. Osuoza’s successful screening and confirmation by members of the Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Addressing members of the fourth estate of the realm, the Commissioner Designate acknowledged the challenges faced by state-owned media houses, particularly Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Warri, and Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba.

Expressing his commitment to addressing these challenges, Dr. Osuoza, who previously served as the Board Chairman for DBS Warri and later as Chairman of DBS Asaba, highlighted his firsthand understanding of the needs and intricacies of the broadcast stations. He affirmed his dedication to rectifying the issues faced by these vital media outlets.

Journalists in the state welcomed the long-awaited appointment with enthusiasm, expressing satisfaction that Dr. Osuoza, a familiar face with a down-to-earth relationship with media practitioners in and beyond the state, is now at the helm of the Ministry of Information.

The inauguration ceremony for Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza as Commissioner for Information, along with Ekemejero Ohwovoriole SAN as Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mr. Kalanama Penawou as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, is slated for Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Government House.

The ceremony will be presided over by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
