WARRI/Nigeria: MG Vowgas Limited has commended the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, for the quality of graduates produced by the institution, following the successful performance of eight PTI graduates recruited into the company’s Graduate Trainee Programme.

The company, in a letter of commendation dated May 19, 2026 and addressed to the Registrar of PTI, said the graduates had distinguished themselves through their technical competence, professionalism, discipline and character during the one-year training programme.

The commendation followed a request made by MG Vowgas in August 2024, after which PTI recommended the eight graduates for the company’s Graduate Trainee Programme. According to the company, all eight participants have now been confirmed as full-time employees based on their performance and contributions throughout the training period.

The graduates are Jeghywo Jegidav Ogbenebrochien, Enubuzor Chinedu John, Ochei Johnson Onyedikachi, Ugochukwu Makua Divine, Ibibo Kombo Bernard, Edokpolor Osa-Osenimwen Moses, Ikechukwu Faith Adaugo and Harry Faith Sokiepririm.

MG Vowgas said the graduates demonstrated not only strong technical knowledge and intellectual capacity, but also resilience, integrity, adaptability and an admirable work ethic throughout their time with the company.

The company noted that their performance had provided practical evidence of the quality of education and institutional grooming offered by PTI, particularly in preparing graduates for the demands of the modern workplace.

“It is particularly commendable that PTI is not merely producing graduates with academic qualifications, but is shaping well-rounded professionals who possess the character, mindset, and competence required to thrive within today’s demanding work environment,” the company stated in the letter.

According to MG Vowgas, the contribution of institutions such as PTI extends beyond meeting the immediate manpower needs of individual organisations, describing the development of competent graduates as an investment in Nigeria’s future workforce, industry professionals and leaders.

The company expressed appreciation for PTI’s commitment to excellence and capacity development, while also indicating its interest in sustaining and strengthening its relationship with the institute.

The commendation comes as further recognition of the role of PTI, Nigeria’s specialised institution for the training of manpower for the oil and gas industry, in producing graduates capable of transitioning effectively from academic training into professional practice.

For the eight graduates, their confirmation as full-time employees after the one-year programme represents a significant transition from graduate trainees to established members of the company’s workforce, while for PTI, the recognition offers an external assessment of the employability and professional preparedness of its graduates.
