Hon. (Rev.) Chukwudi O. Eke
The former member at the board of DESOPADEC, Hon. (Rev.) Chukwudi O. Eke, has called on the government of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to see that the new policy in the management of the board will be the upward review of the quantum allocated to Ndokwa nation.
Rev Eke who spoke to Ndokwa Reporters recently in Asaba said that part of the reason the board had not perform well in Ndokwa land was as a result of very little percentage of allocation to the entire Ndokwa LGA’s, which he said is a far cry from other ethnic nationalities, who do not produce as much oil and gas as Ndokwa.
While appreciating, the new bill before the state assembly, which to him is a welcome development, “There is nothing in the bill for the upward review of the quantum for the various nationalities, because as it is now, what they are using is an old statistics, whereas the production of oil and gas in Ndokwa has increased, even above the quantity from other nationalities who today get more monthly allocations”. He said.
Rev. Eke in concluding, tasks the state government that once the state house of Assembly passes the new bill, “Time should not be wasted in setting up an implementation committee, and one of the jobs of that committee should be to see to the review of the sharing formula to all beneficiaries, because many, especially Ndokwa nation is being cheated in the commission”.
