ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved a far-reaching redeployment of Permanent Secretaries across key ministries, departments and agencies in a move aimed at strengthening governance, enhancing efficiency and accelerating service delivery across the state.
The strategic reshuffle, announced in a circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service and signed by the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, affects several top-ranking civil servants responsible for driving policy implementation and coordinating government programmes.
The redeployment is widely seen as part of Governor Oborevwori’s ongoing efforts to reposition the state public service as a more responsive, productive and result-oriented institution capable of meeting the demands of modern governance.
According to the circular, Dr. (Mrs.) Charity Ehimen-Babigha has been redeployed from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal to the Office of the Head of Service, while Mr. Chukwuka Wilson moves from the Office of the Head of Service to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal.
In the health and education sectors, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Patrick-Ferife has been transferred from the Ministry of Technical Education to the Ministry of Health, while Dr. Okwunze Anthony C. takes over at the Ministry of Technical Education.
Mr. Anino Tetsola has been posted to the Ministry of Housing, where he will continue to oversee State Protocol Matters, bringing his administrative experience and public service expertise to bear in the ministry.
Other redeployments include the posting of Dr. Paul A. Yinkore to the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, while Dr. Nkenchor O. Onyeisi has been assigned to the Office of the Deputy Governor. Mr. Akambe O. Henry has been redeployed to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
In the infrastructure and environmental sectors, Engr. Aghagba Solomon has been posted to the Ministry of Works (Highways and Urban Roads), while Mr. Ogbugo Victor Chike assumes duties at the Ministry of Environment.
The exercise also affects strategic planning and development institutions, with Mr. Ighoyota M. Rocky redeployed to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Itawansa Augustine A. assigned to the Ministry of Economic Planning, and Mr. Onobrakpeyan Edwin O. posted to the Ministry of Water Resources.
Similarly, Mr. Lucky Nkemachor has been directed to resume duties in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, while Mr. Amaduobogha Peter moves to the Ministry of Lands and Survey.
To ensure a seamless transition and continuity in government operations, the Head of Service directed all affected Permanent Secretaries to complete their handover processes and assume their new responsibilities on or before June 8, 2026.
The latest redeployment underscores Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to continuously fine-tuning the machinery of government to achieve greater efficiency, accountability and improved service delivery.
By repositioning experienced administrators in strategic ministries and agencies, the administration aims to strengthen institutional performance and enhance the implementation of policies and programmes designed to improve the lives of Deltans.
The redeployment is expected to inject fresh energy into the state’s public service, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the changes will further support the government’s development agenda and reinforce the capacity of ministries and agencies to deliver tangible results across Delta State.
