Oborevwori Marks Mayuku’s 60th, Highlights Former Lawmaker’s Public Service

ASABA/Nigeria: Former Delta State lawmaker and Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, has been recognised by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his contributions to legislation, public administration and community development as he clocks 60.

Oborevwori said Mayuku’s years in public service had taken him through different areas of responsibility, including legal practice, lawmaking and the administration of development projects in Delta State.

The governor, in a message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, noted that Mayuku had built a career around public service and legislative advocacy, while also contributing to efforts to promote cooperation among communities and ethnic groups in the state.

Mayuku served as Executive Director, Projects, at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), where he was involved in the implementation of projects in oil-producing communities.

His political career also included representation of Warri South-West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, where he held a number of committee leadership positions.

Among them were chairmanship of the House Committees on Information, Finance and Appropriation, and Education.

Reflecting on his record, Oborevwori said Mayuku had brought his legal and legislative experience to bear on issues of governance and development during his various assignments.

The governor also acknowledged his efforts in fostering relationships across ethnic and tribal lines, describing this as part of his contribution to the wider development of the state.

As Mayuku begins his seventh decade, Oborevwori wished him good health and the wisdom and strength to continue contributing to the state and the country.

He also expressed hope that the celebrant would bring his experience to bear on the responsibilities of his current position as Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund.
